We have both and although they get along fine, they don't play together. Labs are much bigger than a dachshund and have much energy and many dachshunds just can't keep up because of heir short legs. You didn't say if you were thinking of a mini-dachshund or a standard because a standard might be a better choice if you really want a dachshund.

I have both and they are the best of friends. I have a mini-dachshund, their is obviously a size difference, but the mini can hold his own when playing, he even pins the lab down... but she lets him. They are pretty cute together actually. You do have to keep an extra eye on them, my two like to play rough, and the mini has gotten hurt. But for the most part since he is smaller, he can run right under her, and escape.... They also let each other know when they are playing to rough... every once in a while you'll hear a yelp and that will be the end of it. If your lab gets along with smaller dogs then go for it. I really lucked out and have to great dogs.
