Pets at Home are complete extortionists for a start - they charge £22.50 for one degu, and I paid £5 each for mine ! Chinchillas I've seen normally cost between £50 and £80, never pay more than that though. Also be aware they're not really cuddle pets, if you're looking for something you can hold you'd be better off with a much cheaper and cuddlier rabbit !
