KNOWING YOUR DWARF HAMSTER

Knowing your dwarf hamster is a great thing to help you have a bond with your tiny fury friend. Without a lot of work you can have fun watching and playing with these little ones. Hamsters like being clean so they do require a little work on the up keep of their cages. You need to provide a proper nutritional diet to keep them healthy so this is a small job.

Dwarf hamsters also require a lot of exercise. But if you provide enough entertainment for them it will not require a lot on your part. This will make a healthier and happier hamster. Your pet hamster can be possessive with their property. It is best not to move around their nesting area, food and water bowls, and toilet area. Tubes and toys can be moved to different areas to keep them from getting bored.

If you get nipped when you first bring your pet home do not get discouraged. This will take some time, training and patience. The dwarf hamster will get annoyed with you causing them to curl and lay back their ears. Usually you will see this if you disturb them while they are sleeping they are nocturnal pets. Make sure you let your hamster get fully awake before you handle your hamster.

Though your pet is tiny they still need to have room to run and play. Hamsters should have a large cage or a dual cage with tunnels to run back and forth in. So your hamster does not die from boredom. Hamsters are fast and can run for miles a day in their natural habitat. Place your pet in a ball or hamster mobile if you take your pet out of their cage. Do not put your hamster around steps or where someone can kick it by accident. So stay close by because your hamster may get injured or death could occur.
