You're joking, right? You seriously want more regulation that reaches into you home. Your rabbits are safe, isn't that enough. Its great that you have taken a stand about where you will eat based on your beliefs. However, don't force your beliefs on me by legislating what I'm allowed to eat. I love rabbit pie.

I agree with the prior posters. If every animal that was treated as a pet was not allowed for food there would be a lot more vegetarians. People own pigs as pets and I've heard they make great pets and are pretty clean but does that mean they should not be eaten? It's all in the culture. We eat cows and the Buddhists consider them sacred "You should not eat that which gives you milk."

Rabbits were a food animals long before they entered the pet market. The Romans introduced the rabbit to Britain as a food animal and they used to breed edible dormice for the table. In South America the guinea pig is a delicacy eaten deep fried.
To use your way of thinking if an animal is kept as a pet anywhere it is wrong to eat any of the same species.
Therefore we can't eat beef, chicken, ducks or lamb because these animals can be kept as pets.
